Product Stewardship

TPC Group has a product stewardship program that is fundamental to how we do business and is integral to how we manufacture, transport, use, recycle and dispose of our products. A collaborative cross-functional team, which include Technology, Operations, EHSS, Legal and Commercial representatives, oversees the product steward strategy. Our commitment to protect the health and safety of our employees, customers and surrounding communities is the highest priority.

We provide our suppliers, carriers, distributors and customers with product literature such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Product Summaries, product handling guidelines and training, and technical assistance to ensure we are all maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards within our workplace and beyond our fence line.

TPC Group is a member of the American Chemistry Council (ACC). We have a commitment to Responsible Care® and are dedicated to improving product stewardship throughout the chemical industry. TPC has fully implemented the Product Safety Code as part of our Product Stewardship efforts.

REACH

REACH, or Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, is a European Union Regulation which was adopted to “improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals while enhancing competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry.”

TPC Group is committed to the safe use and handling of our products. Therefore, we have registered with REACH our products that are shipped to Europe. For information regarding REACH and our products, please contact your regular business contact.

Safety Data Sheets

The OSHA Hazard Communication Standard was modified in 2012 to align with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. We have developed Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to meet the GHS requirements. We provide SDS for all our products and make them available to everyone.

Community Advisory Panel

TPC Group is proud to be an active participant in our local communities. We are dedicated to being transparent in our actions and communications by keeping our neighbors informed of day-to-day operations, specific events and need-to-know information. We do this through membership in our local Community Advisory Panels (CAP). Our CAPs allow for open dialogue between nearby neighbors, local business owners and community leaders. We view our CAPs as an important opportunity for us to share information, engage with our community and do our part to keep our neighbors informed of how we operate and conduct our business. Topics regularly discussed during CAP meetings include process safety, environmental issues and site and community activities.

High Priority Products

TPC Group has implemented a risk-based process to prioritize our products using the ACC Prioritization Tool. This is a screening-level assessment using qualitative and quantitative evaluations of relevant hazard information as well as information on potential exposure associated with the manufacture and downstream use. This prioritization is used to identify products that require further evaluation or additional data gathering with respect to their hazards, uses and exposures. As part of this effort, we have created product summaries for our downstream users.
