TPC Group Awards Academic Scholarships to 12 High School Graduates

HOUSTON (Friday, May 30, 2025) – TPC Group recently announced the recipients of this year’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship Program at a luncheon held on May 21 in Houston. The Company’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors planning to attend a four-year or two-year university or college following graduation. Since 2006, TPC Group has awarded nearly $1.2 million in academic scholarships to graduating high school seniors in southeast Texas.

TPC Group’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship is awarded to students graduating from Cesar E. Chavez High School, in Houston’s East End and from Port Neches-Groves High School, in Port Neches, Texas and plan to pursue a degree in engineering, chemistry or environmental science at an accredited four-year college or university, or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in process, instrument, analyzer or electrical technology at an accredited two-year institution.

TPC Group’s Sons and Daughters Program is open to all graduating seniors with a mother or father employed by the Company.

In addition, TPC Group supports the Genesys Works program by providing internship opportunities for high school students in business, including information technology, business operations and professional development. These student interns, upon graduation from high school and acceptance into a two or four-year program at an accredited college or university, receive a one-time, $2,500 scholarship.

In 2025, TPC Group awarded 12 scholarships.

Cesar E. Chavez High School Recipients:

• Faustina Tran is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Port Neches-Groves High School Recipients:

Bryce Tran is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. He plans to attend Lamar University and pursue a degree in electrical engineering.

Magsimiliano Gutierrez is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. He plans to attend Lamar University and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Reese Roberts is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. She plans to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Sons and Daughters Scholarships Recipients:

Brady Flauaus is a graduate of Grand Oaks High School. He plans to attend Texas Tech University and pursue a degree in agribusiness.

Diego Fernandez is a graduate of Summer Creek High School. He plans to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Katherine Cronin is a graduate of Stratford High School. She plans to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a degree in biology.

Keira Keys is a graduate of Lumberton High School. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Dallas and pursue a degree in software engineering.

Genesys Works Recipients:

Araceli Bernal is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. She plans to attend Houston Community College and pursue a degree in dental hygiene.

Edgardo Gonzalez is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. He plans to attend the University of San Jacinto College and pursue a degree in process technology.

Emily Gonzalez is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. She plans to attend the University of Houston–Downtown and pursue a degree in psychology.

Juan Hernandez is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. He plans to attend the University of San Jacinto College and pursue a degree in sales.
