TPC Group Awards Academic Scholarships to 12 High School Graduates

HOUSTON (Monday, June 3, 2024) – TPC Group recently announced the recipients of this year’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship Program at a luncheon held on May 22 in Houston. The Company’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors planning to attend a four-year or two-year university or college following graduation. Since 2006, TPC Group has awarded more than $1.1 million in academic scholarships to graduating high school seniors in southeast Texas.

TPC Group’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship is awarded to students graduating from Cesar E. Chavez High School, in Houston’s East End and from Port Neches-Groves High School, in Port Neches, Texas and plan to pursue a degree in engineering, chemistry or environmental science at an accredited four-year college or university, or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in process, instrument, analyzer or electrical technology at an accredited two-year institution.

TPC Group’s Sons and Daughters Program is open to all graduating seniors with a mother or father employed by the Company.

In addition, TPC Group supports the Genesys Works program by providing internship opportunities for high school students in the field of information technology and engineering. These student interns, upon graduation from high school and acceptance into a two or four-year program at an accredited college or university, receive a one-time, $2,500 scholarship.

This year, 12 scholarships were awarded.

Cesar E. Chavez High School Recipients:

• Giancarlo Garcia Cortez is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. He plans to attend the University of Houston and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Port Neches-Groves High School Recipients:

• Jaxon Caillier is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. He plans to attend Sam Houston State University and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

• Kate Letulle is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. She plans to attend Lamar University and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

• Ryan Makelki is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. He plans to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a degree in chemical engineering.

Sons and Daughters Scholarships Recipients:

• Mya Brownlow is a graduate of Bellaire High School. She plans to attend Texas State University and pursue a degree in political science.

• Oluwatomisin Fasidi is a graduate of Elkins High School. He plans to attend Texas A&M University-Galveston and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

• Kaylie Guess is a graduate of Foster High School. She plans to attend Rust College and pursue a degree in biology.

• Camryn Guilbeau is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. She plans to attend Stephen F. Austin University and pursue a degree in nursing.

• Arianna Ramos is a graduate of J. Frank Dobie High School. She plans to attend San Jacinto Community College South and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Genesys Works Recipients:

• Frederick Bonilla is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. He plans to attend Houston Community College and pursue a degree in computer engineering.

• Alondra Carbajal is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. She plans to attend to San Jacinto College and pursue a degree in nursing.

• Alexander Torres is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. He plans to attend the University of Houston Clear Lake and pursue a degree biological science.
