TPC Group Awards Academic Scholarships to 12 High School Graduates

HOUSTON (Friday, June 15, 2018) – TPC Group recently announced the recipients of this year’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship Program at a luncheon held on May 30, 2018 in Houston. The Company’s Mark of Excellence Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors planning to attend a four-year or two-year degree following graduation. Since 2006, TPC Group has awarded more than $827,000 in academic scholarships to graduating high school seniors in southeast Texas.

The Mark of Excellence Scholarship is awarded in three categories: students from Cesar E. Chavez High School in Houston’s East End and Port Neches-Groves High School, in Port Neches, Texas. These students must pursue a four-year academic degree in engineering, chemistry or environmental science at an accredited four-year college or university; or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in process, instrument, analyzer or electrical technology at an accredited two-year institution; student interns successfully completing a Genesys Works Internship at TPC Group and plan to attend a two or four-year program at an accredited college or university, and, dependents of employees of TPC Group.

This year’s recipients are as follows:

Juan Aguilar is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. Juan has been accepted to the University of Texas, in Austin, Texas. He plans to pursue a degree in chemistry.

Rachel Hammersmith is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School. Rachel has been accepted to Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She plans to pursue a degree in chemical engineering.

Ivan Juarez-Reyes is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. Jonathan has been accepted to Stanford University in Stanford, California. He plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Victoria Keo is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. Victoria has been accepted to the University of Houston – Main Campus. She plans to pursue a degree in civil engineering.

Isaiah Alonzo is a graduate of Westbury Christian School. He has been accepted to Blinn College in Bryan, Texas. He plans to study civil engineering. Isaiah had perfect attendance from kindergarten to high school.

Kaitlyn Coats is a graduate of St. Thomas Episcopal School. Kaitlyn has been accepted to Baylor University, in Waco, Texas. She plans to pursue a degree in communications.

Emma Elliott is a graduate of Taylor High School. Emma has been accepted to Baylor University, in Waco, Texas. She plans to pursue a degree in business management.

Skyler Harvill is a graduate of Lumberton High School. Skyler has been accepted to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Mia Woodruff is a graduate of Bridge City High School. Mia has been accepted to Lamar University, in Beaumont, Texas. She plans to pursue a degree in nursing.

Luciana DeLara is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. Luciana has been accepted to San Jacinto College in San Jacinto, Texas. She plans to pursue a career as a Veterinarian or Vet Tech.

Dennys Reyes is a graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School. Dennys is planning to attend University of Houston – Clear Lake. He plans to pursue a degree in computer science.
