Texas Petrochemicals Awards Academic Scholarships To Port Neches-Goves High School Graduates
PORT NECHES, Texas (Friday, June 27, 2008) – Texas Petrochemicals (TPC) recently hosted a luncheon in honor of this year’s recipients of the TPC Mark of Excellence scholarship award. Port Neches-Groves High School graduates Mr. Jose D. Papa, Mr. Clint Burnett, Ms. Alisha Broussard and Mr. Jonathan Carnahan were this year’s winners. Joining representatives from TPC were Port Neches Mayor Glen Johnson and Port Neches-Groves Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Lani Randall.
TPC offers two $8,000 scholarships to students attending a four-year college or university and two $4,000 scholarships to students who pursue a two-year technical certification or an associate of applied science degree from an accredited institution. This is the second year TPC has offered a scholarship program in Port Neches.
The efforts of TPC efforts build on a solid foundation of community involvement and support for those who seek to improve and promote educational advancement, environmental responsibility and the overall well being of the community at large.
