Texas Petrochemicals Awards Academic Scholarships To Port Neches-Goves High School Graduates
PORT NECHES, Texas (Monday, July 06, 2009) – Texas Petrochemicals recently hosted a luncheon in honor of this year’s recipients of the Texas Petrochemicals Mark of Excellence scholarship award. Port Neches-Groves High School graduates Ms. Brandi Fowler, Ms. Hannah Lancaster and Mr. Dillon McCoy were this year’s winners. Joining representatives from Texas Petrochemicals were Mayor Glen Johnson of Port Neches, Mayor Brad Bailey of Groves and Superintendent of Port Neches-Groves Independent School District, Dr. Lani Randall.
Texas Petrochemicals offers up to $20,000 in college scholarships to students attending either a 4-year college or university, or students planning to pursue a 2-year technical certification or an associate of applied science degree from an accredited institution. This is the third year Texas Petrochemicals has offered a scholarship program in Port Neches.
The Company’s scholarship program builds on a solid foundation of community involvement and support for those who seek to improve and promote educational advancement, environmental responsibility and the overall well-being of the community at large. Since 2006, Texas Petrochemicals has awarded $250,000 in academic scholarships across Texas through its Mark of Excellence Scholarship Program.
